Why are your ice cream containers so popular?
Our bestselling easy-open ice cream freezer containers do exactly one job really well!
They come in new gorgeous colors and feature tough, rigid tubs and leak-proof, no-crack silicone lids.
The lids are flexible yet strong, ensuring they won't crack or break your nails.
The interior of the containers are polished so that food slides off- there are no coatings, it is naturally non-stick.
They are also top-rack dishwasher safe, making them versatile and easy to clean.
Do these containers prevent ice crystals?
While we can't guarantee no ice crystals ever (that would really depend on your ice cream recipe and method), we can give you tips to prevent ice crystals when using our containers.
- Fill tubs with ice cream right to the top. If you don't have enough, use parchment or plastic wrap to seal the surface of the ice cream
- Press lid on firmly
- "Burp" the lid to press out excess air. This will form an airtight and leak-proof seal.
- Place at the back of your freezer, not in the door. Fluctuation in temperature can cause ice crystals.
- Enjoy your ice cream within 3 months. Do not re-freeze a half eaten container of ice cream!
- Choose single serve containers to portion your homemade batch, so you can enjoy each portion fresh
What are these ice cream containers made from?
Our ice cream container tubs are made of polypropylene, a tough and durable plastic which is BPA, BPS, and phthalate-free.
The silicone lids are made of premium food-grade LFGB certified European Wacker silicone, known for its high quality and safety standards.
The interior of the containers are polished so that food slides off, there are no coatings.
Can I use these containers for storing other foods besides ice cream?
Absolutely! Our freezer containers are not just for ice cream. They are also great for storing soups and snacks in the freezer.
Are these containers microwave safe, to re-heat soup, for example?
Short answer - no.
While technically the polypropylene containers are microwave safe, we do not recommend it because these containers are primarily designed for FREEZER storage. The silicone lids will get very hot when microwaved.
The volume of soup in these containers, mean that the amount of time required in the microwave would be very long, and the lids would get very hot to an unsafe level.
Printed tubs would also suffer from the printed patterns deteriorating with microwave rays.
We recommend pouring the soup into a micro-wave safe bowl, then reheating.
What is Wacker silicone and why is it important?
Wacker silicone is a high-quality, European LFGB-certified brand of silicone known internationally for its superior performance and safety.
We use it as the primary material in our kitchen utensils because it is incredibly stable, high heat resistant to 600°F, and free of harmful toxins and chemicals like BPA, BPS, or phthalates.
